The Oil and Gas Exploration, Extraction and Transportation Committee (OGEETC) hosted presenters from the National Energy Board (NEB) and the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) at its November 30, 2015 meeting in Lamont. Representatives from Lamont County, the Town of Lamont and the Town of Bruderheim heard about the roles and responsibilities of the NEB and AER around pipeline development.

NEB is responsible for regulating pipelines that cross provincial boundaries. AER ensures the safe, efficient, orderly, and environmentally responsible development of hydrocarbon resources in Alberta over their entire life cycle. That includes the regulation of over 415,000km of pipelines within the province.

OGEETC special guests included representatives from the Village of Chipman and the Town of Mundare.
