Lamont County’s economic strength is based on its diversification in three major sectors:

• Industrial and Commercial
• Agricultural
• Tourism

Lamont County is home to current and proposed major industrial facilities. Major companies include: Cenovus, Graymont, Inter Pipeline, and MEG Energy. Lamont County has extensive pipelines as well as gas and oil activity.

Agricultural value-added industries include farm equipment sales/service, fuels and fertilizers, livestock products/services, grain handling and hauling facilities. Major employers include Pioneer Grain, Viterra, and NBI Feedyards. 

Independent businesses operating in Lamont County include a broad range of retail products, consumer services, restaurants and construction products/services.
